V is an anarchist revolutionary fighting against a fascist regime in a near future United Kingdom in Alan Moore's and David Lloyd's "V for Vendetta". V was a prisoner of the Larkhill Resettlement Camp in cell 5 (Roman numeral V). There he was subjected to injections that killed all the other test subjects, but made him stronger, faster, smarter, and quite mad (or so it appeared). When he escaped he set about a plan to take out those who ran the camp and bring about a revolution. Plotting from his Shadow Gallery in an abandoned Victoria Station he dons a Guy Fawkes mask and uses daggers, explosives, and tear gas, as well as, deception and cunning to shake up the totalitarian government. He saves and then enlists a young Evey Hammond who helps him carry out his final plan.
