Scarlett came to Fireteam 6 from the Intelligence Support Activity (ISA) of the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command. After her acceptance into GI Joe, she chose a very elegant weapon in her crossbow, but while with Fireteam 6, she chose a semiautomatic shotgun. She earned the nickname "Shotgun Edith" after clearing a cave in Afghanistan single handedly.

Fireteam 6 is one of the United States' five secret counter-terrorism and Special Mission Units (SMUs). While you will find information on the other 4 SMU's (Delta Force of the United States Army, SEAL Team Six of the United States Navy, 24th Special Tactics Squadron (24th STS) of the United States Air Force, and Intelligence Support Activity (ISA) of the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command), you will find no such information on Fireteam 6. Its existence is denied and all operations are classified.

Fireteam 6 originated as a desire to merge the skills of all branches of the US armed forces. Members are traditionally chosen from the other 4 SMU's, but plenty of exceptions have been made. The concept was so successful that it was quickly merged with another top secret military project codenamed GI Joe. Fireteam 6 is now not only a counter terrorism and Special Mission Unit, it is also used to train and evaluate elite soldiers for assignment to GI Joe.
