Overkill was one of a few cobra soldiers to survive the event. His robotics and programming intact since he was miles underground in a secret GI Joe prison. When the event wiped out most of the civilized world the Joes had no choice but to flee the prison for a safer rendezvous point. They also allowed the prisoners to flee.

Overkill made his way to the southern USA. He was looking for a secret Dreadnok base when he stumbled into Croc Master's camp. Croc Master took him in and they began to rebuild a small Cobra crew. Soon they discovered they were being hunted by a new world terrorist group, KOBRA. If they are to survive in the wastelands they must learn to work with the surviving Joes.
