Ripcord was another really cool character. He was unique when the line was being made. It seems like a lot of characters and figures that have become the staple for G.I. Joe were made in the very early years of the line. I think Ripcord is one of those.

The entire Halo Jumper/Ripcord/Sgt. Airborne thing was a little bit tedious. I thought that the figure that came out ended up looking more like Freefall then the other characters it was meant to be.

For Ripcord I really wanted to get back to the original look of the figure. I ended up going with the Torpedo body since it is one of the best base military bodies for G.I. Joes (in my opinion anyway). I also saw a picture of some artwork for Ripcord for the new G. I. Joe card game coming out and wanted to base my figure on that as well.

I first added the collar and front that the original figure had. Then I looked around to see what parts I could scrounge up for his parachute harness and so on. I wanted to have something of the new figure in there so I used the lower portion of the harness that came with the Sgt Airborne figure to complete the parachute gear.

The figure looks pretty close to the original I think and that was what I was going for, only modernized.
