Mortal Kombat Sonya Blade
I consider this figure one of my best customs ever. There was never, unfortunately, a Pythona figure officially produced by Hasbro. I believe that one was planned for 1988, as that year's female figure, but when Cobra-La failed, she was scrapped. Ideally, I think Hasbro should have produced a three-pack with Golobulus, Nemesis Enforcer, and Pythona, and released the Cobra-La Guard in a single card as an army-builder. But that didn't happen. So I had to make my own Pythona. I initially made one from Scarlett, but was never happe with it. This one is made from a Sonya Blade figure. I was able to remove the separately-molded hair piece, and build up the head with modeling putty to a proper level, leaving a small hole in which to insert some green and black strands of actual hair. The former Jinx uniform that Sonya wore lent itself well to being modified for Pythona. The original cape was cut from a T-shirt, but for this picture, I made a new cape for her from a small piece of somewhat thinner fabric that I believe was a cloth for cleaning glasses. I doubt we'll ever see a traditional-style Pythona, so I'm pleased this one turned out as well as she did. Hope you like her!
