I really hope Unimax gets orders for these things. I'd love to snag a few.

And on a related front, I really want an 1:18 Stryker. I've heard that Unimax's got cancelled... any validity to that?

Why for do they continue to tease me this way? :bawl:

The detailing is beautiful, and the articulation is dead on...best of all I won't have too much trouble mating these up to Star Wars figures (give or take some Dremeling). Plus having access to a supply of medieval/pre-medieval/feudal Japan helmets, weapons and shields is more than I dare dream...

I soooo badly can't wait to get my hands on some of these--now my main worries are (1) the line will abruptly be cancelled for some dumb reason or (2) they won't show up locally and it'll cost me my soul to buy them online.

But I WILL have them, oh yes. :-D

The only thing missing from that site is the "where to purchase" link.

My fear about this line is that every fig comes with a hardback book. I fear each fig is gonna run about $15 or something. I'd really like for these li'l bastids to succeed like wildfire, but that book and it's attendant costs are gonna hamper repeat buyers. Perhaps in succeeding waves they can offer book-less 3packs of previous wave figs?

I tried to send the parent companythis email; but the site brainfarted or something:

Quote:
Hello;

I'm currently a fan of your Forces of Valor 1/18th figures. I collect pretty much any and every toyline in 18th scale as it offers the best compromise of sculpting details, articulation, and playset feasibility.

I'm very anxious to get some of your Ages of Action products as I'm a very large history buff, and hope you do warriors from all across history and the world. I'd love to see some Mayan/Aztec/Inca sort of guys; as well as some Zulu, and Spartans, and Native American Indians and Eskimos, and Hindu and medieval Muslim warriors. It's all good so far as I can see.

My one fear is that those of us wishing to build armies of these warriors will be put off by the inclusion of the book with every figure. This book, while no doubt a great inclusion to help educate the kids, and yo're to be applauded for including it; obviously adds some cost to the overall price of each figure.

So, as a compromise; perhaps you could offer three-packs of warriors a wave or two later than they come out singly? I'd love to have ten each of everything I've seen so far. WIth some weapons and helmet interchangeability, it'd be easy to assemble armies of non-identical warriors.

Please give this idea some thought, after seeing how well the first offerings go, of course. I hope this line succeeds for you twice as well as the Forces of Valor line is doing. On a related note, can we assume these Ages of Action figures will be sold exclusively through Target here in the USA?

Lastly, Page 6 of your Ages of Action website ( http://www.agesofaction.com/page_six.html ) has your website here listed missing the A from your company name, so it reads: http://www.unimx.com.hk

Dear Forum Participants:

Please excuse our 'early' website presence. It's just there to provide a little more information on AGES OF ACTION, even as we plan to develop the site further and await retail confirmation for the line.

UNIMAX appreciates your continued interest and support---and would like to direct you to http://www.figures.com, http://www.armchairgeneral.com, and http://www.toymania.com who have recently posted news and images of the figures.

Dear 'Zombie Guide',

Not a problem! Happy to speak with you guys about AGES OF ACTION, as I've been
working on the line firsthand with Osprey Publishing for over a year now to help make it a reality.

Everyone who happened by our booth at the recent NY Toy Fair really appreciated the detail and quality of what they saw of the line. We hope it enjoys as much success as our BRAVO TEAM 1:18 (a Target exclusive), which has been really moving off the shelves since its debut late last year.

Please visiy our early promo site, http://www.agesofaction.com , for more info...and I'll keep checking back with joecustoms.com for its valued feedback.

Regards,

Dear Adrien Veidt;

Thank you for your suggestions. Anything is possible this early on in the development
of AGES OF ACTION, and certainly a multi-figure pack is a consideration we will be thinking about for this line.

While Target is one of our retail customers, the program is not an exclusive to them (unilike our Forces of Valor: Bravo Team 1:18), and has been offered to other retailers in both the mass and specialty markets

The retail on such a product has been difficult to wrangle---given the fact that each warrior is unique---and the investment in tooling truly 'individual' figures is significant. I can comfortably assure you, however, that individual figures will NOT retail for 15.00 US, as you may have heard, and that they will be sold at a competetive price to our consumers.

Regards,

L. Gatdula

What's the status of the Bravo Team Stryker? I'm really looking forward to that one and am concerned about the rumors that it's been canceled.

Is the 1:18 Stryker still in the works?

Wow. Very nice to see a small company taking this serious approach to customer outreach. Very refreshing. :-)

Let's hope the membership behave themselves. :-P Someone lock up raptor. :shifty:

Well I for one am VERY impressed with the swift responce, I know you are busy but it means alot to take that kind of time to answer people's conserns publicly as well as getting information out to us who might be interested in the line.

I am saying in a round about way your company just went up ten points in my book.

Dear Dasaffe;

The 1:32 scale FORCES OF VALOR Stryker has, in fact, been cancelled due to a lack of retail support for the vehicle in that scale. I know that this may be contrary to what you may be hearing from collectors eager to see a Stryker in our program.

I do believe the 1:18 Stryker is still being planned for our BRAVO TEAM line-up---however, I cannot confirm this, nor a release date at present.

Please allow me to follow up on this for you, and I'll let you know when I've been told the 1:18 Stryker is 'a go'. While I provide support to BRAVO TEAM and FORCES OF VALOR development, final decisions on any additions to our line assortments are made overseas by the parent company's dev. and management team.

Best Regards,
