Well it's summer time again, that means I'm off from work which normally means it's custom time. However, with the little one at home and the wife working it means I'm a stay-at-home dad. Custom time comes late at night or during naps. Point being I don't have a whole lot of time for full write ups and what not so I'll be posting all of this summer's figures in this thread.

First up the figures from the last 2 weeks.

Cobra's Iron Man. I originally made this figure for a custom swap and knew I needed one for myself.

The original and bio can be seen here:

Hydro-Viper, inspired by the amazing work of Rascalscustoms, which I became the lucky owner of, see pics here:

Black Cat, I bought the MU version and was sadly disappointed in the articulation so I made my own. I sculpted the collar, the arm and leg fur were cut off the MU figure.

An unnamed PMC

A couple members of V.E.N.O.M.

Miles Mayhem

Nash Gorey

I am aware that the masks sit high. I've modded the helmets as much as I'm willing to and display them without the masks on so they are fine in my book.

And finally the figure I am most proud of out of the bunch.

Pigpen

Charlie Brown wasn't the only one to survive after the dead began walking the Earth. Pigpen took to his family's junkyard and hunkered down till he was ready. Now he is another survivor roaming the wastes.

My favorite detail is the roll of duct tape, made out of real duct tape. I figured Pigpen is a junkyard engineer and lives by the mantra, "If ya can't duck it..."

Great stuff. I think Hydro-Viper is my favorite.

Agreed, the Hydro Viper just works.

HypnoHustler mentioned it to me and I agree with him, making a stand with dirty cotton balls to simulate that surrounded by dirt look would be cool here. Hell even an action shot of him driving down a dusty dirt round would work.

Good stuff here, from what I can see.

Black Cat doesn't seem to be showing up for me, though?

Thanks all, I can't take credit for Hydro-Viper, I took rascalscustoms formula and made my own, the main difference is the goggles and paint apps.

As for Pigpen, I wanted to do an "action shot" with some dust either practically or digitally, but I didn't have time. I'll be going back and taking more shots of him and will do my best to add the dust.

So this summer has been very different from previous summers, rather then staying up all night, working on customs, and sleeping in the next morning, I am up early thanks to the little one. So my custom work takes place the hour or two after she goes to bed and during naps. That said I've gotten quite a few figures completed, well over 30. Many of them fall into the "Army Builder" category; Iron Grenadiers, Cobra Troopers, Crimson Shadow Guards, Fire fighters, with a few Spec Ops type characters, M.A.S.K. characters, and then random. A few I'm thinking of submitting to Joe All Stars the rest I'll post here.

Starting with the Iron Grenadiers.

The first three are nothing super special, lots of people have done these.

Officer (using a Duke torso to separate it from the regular figures)

Image

Troopers

These have definitely been done by others, I apologize for not providing links I'll update when I find them.

Image

Image

After the fall of Castle Destro many of the heavy weapons operators found themselves with battle scars.

Cobra and the Joes aren't the only ones with martial arts experts.

And lastly for this batch, Metal Head

Image

Image

(Yes I am aware the officer fell down, I didn't have time to retake the pic, I plan on trying to do so tomorrow and will update it after I do)

Image

I plan on doing write up for all the characters on my site and will post links with more pics after I do.

I love making Firefighters so I added a couple more to my collection.

This one is based on my own Turn Out Gear.

One made in traditional black Turn Outs.

I really need to make the time to customize that ladder truck in the background.

That was a lot to take in. Love the firefighters and your Iron Grenadiers set is pretty sweet too.

I dig those IGs. I started something similar with mine but never finished them. Definitely going to use yours as inspiration/motivation to get them done now.

Love the firefighters, very well done on parts choice.

But the Hydro Viper takes the cake. The torso and leg combo goes together so well that they look like they were designed together. And I'm a sucker for Hydro Vipers of any sorts.
