I haven't had a chance really to make a custom figure in a while that's worthy of posting. Or at least anything that's not something being sold or used to promote something. This one was just for fun. Well it does show off how nice Boss Fight Blanks work for customizing but we all know that already. Preaching to the choir here.

I decided to make a Crystar. I always liked the old comic, but never really got into the figures. They were blue and looked more like ice people. The comic had the simulated clear look with white and blue highlights. So that's what I wanted to do. I used a Boss Fight Crystal Clear and a Red Blank. To build up the parts I used 3D printing. I made the belt flat, then heated it to curl it around the figure and glue in place. The sword is done out a a filament called natural, which gives a cloudy clear look. The shield was done with the same material. I thought it was a nice material to create a crystal look. The helmet again using that material, but I started with a Kylo Ren helmet. I didn't bother to do any 3D designing with that since Kylo's is close once all the face part was cut away. The other add on pieces was 3D printed parts and then glued in place. The knees again printed along with the wrist gauntlets.

It did take some dremel work to fit everything and get it all in place. A little glue to build it up and it was ready to go. I did a wash of a blue/green (sea foam Apple Barrel color) then a pearl white dry brush over all of that. I think it did pretty well for the comic look. The eyes and mouth are using stickers from my "easy custom" stickers. Yep they are die cut stickers and not painted. The shield and chest designs are water slides.

Fun build, my next one I'll be doing is The Rock. Mostly to test some water slide material to create the tattoos.

One more shot to get a better look at the shield.

Nice effects with the wash. Gives him a crystal/pearl look! I'm excited to see what happens with your tattoo project as well.

I love me some Crystar, one of my favourite toy lines as a kid. Very nice work.

Thanks everybody!

2DARK2C - I have a sheet I made up as an easy custom stickers sheet specifically for the HACKs and it includes eyes on it. I'm actually working on a layout for another sheet that will just be eyes, lips, and various other hard to paint features. It's almost ready. It'll be on my storenvy page I set up when it's available. It does make life easier. I'm mostly waiting on getting some opaque water slide material before I put it up. The stickers work great but some people prefer water slide over stickers, so I wanted that option to be in place. It'll all be precut so it's just peel and stick... or with water slide, just dip in water and slide off the image.
