An elite band of warriors, the Red Ninjas trained in the same ninja clan that produced the masters Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow. When Storm Shadow was accused of killing the Arashikage clan's Hard Master, it was believed that the clan's members scattered. After several skirmishes with the mysterious Red Ninjas, Storm Shadow discovered that thy warriors were not only members of his family's ninja clan, but also were attempting to fulfill a vendetta against him by siding with the Hard master's true killer - Zartan! In the ensuing battle, it was believe that all the Red Ninjas were killed.

Several years later, Red Ninjas appeared at the Silent Castle in Trans-Carpathia under the charge of Slice and Dice. Whether these ninjas were members of the Arashikage clan or mere trainees of Slice, himself rumored to be an outcast of the clan, remains unknown. Firefly, revealing himself as a former adept of the clan, later appeared on the scene with his own Red Ninja henchman whose exact origins also are unrevealed. Despite their numerous appearances, little information is known about these zealous warriors.
