DIAMONDBACK
COBRA SURVIVAL SPECIALIST

DIAMONDBACK is the ultimate survivalist. He's not, however, one of these types that goes into a forest, and lives off the land. T~ical of the Cobra mentality, he regards the environment as his adversary to be overcome. His job is to evaluate areas that may Boon be occupied by COBRA troopers, and to select the best type of Cobra troop division for the job. To that end, Diamondback's evaluations of a given area of the world must be absolutely precise. He has created a suit, based largely on the Secto-ViperiAqua-Viper environment suit, that not only protects him from just about anything, but allows him to take precise readings of his surroundings for proper evaluation. He is the ultimate survivalist because he removes himself from his environment even while waling within it, and he is the ultimate recon scout. The suit, far more advanced than those of the Secto-Vipers or Aqua-Vipers, is designed to withstand incredible temperature extremes of heat and cold, buffeting by horrific winds, pressures of ocean water that would crush all bu the most advanced diving suits, and even the bleak emptiness of space. Diamondback has boasted that his suit would likely let him ride out a tornado.

From General Hawk's ifies: "We really don't know much about this guy. He's not a front-line battle specialist. He comes before the front line, before we know Cobra's stirring up trouble somewhere. Psyche-Out believes that Diamondback is essentially the ultimate thrill-seeker. He's not especially loyal to Cobra, but working for Cobra has given him access to the hardware he needed to design his fancy uniform, and Cobra lets him go out and push his luck in sftuations that no conventional military force in their right mind would send a lone scout into. We're brave, but not stupid, and Diamondback is probably just plan crasy, but he's also very efficient at what he does. That's a dnngerous combination."
