Here is a custom joe of an obscure DC comics character called Wild Dog. This was the first custom figure i ever made. i made him about 13 years ago when i was 12. DC was trying to capture some of Marvels success of The Punisher, by creating their own unforgiving hero. I remember that Wild Dog #1 was the first comic book i ever saw blood in and the comics code let it pass.

I believe that this character could have been the leader in the trend of the super-violent anti-heros that comics fell into in the late 80's and early 90's. after his initial mini series, he had a good run in detective comics. that is untill DC decieded that he didnt fit into their revamped universe in 94 and they killed off this once great character. i highly recomend the limited series for GIJoe fans, or fans of characters like Snake-eyes.

The figure was made from Beach-heads lower half and Bazookas upper half. i dremeled down Bazookas jersey numbers to give a flatter painting surface and also the head for the hockey mask. then painted the figures upper half with plasti-coat oil-based acrylics. the result was a figure that followed Snake-eyes and Storm shadow into the terror drome to rescue Scarlett when i was a kid, as well as a bunch of other adventures. DC comics may have killed him off, but he lives on in my GIJoe collection.
