While T.A.R.G.A.T.s prove to be useful weapons when launched in groups, they generally lack the firepower to present much of a threat on their own. They also rely on being launched into orbit prior to descending on their target. Because of these drawbacks, the MARS developers have been working on a prototype for a new kind of air assault trooper. The new project, called Cyclone, is a similar concept to the T.A.R.G.A.T., but can launch from the ground and is far more maneuverable and deadly than a lone T.A.R.G.A.T.
Cyclone is armed with a pair of .50 Cal machine guns, four 20 pound bombs, and two laser guided rockets. With a full armament, Cyclone can travel up to 100 miles, deliver his payload to the target, and return to base. He is nearly undetectable on radar.
The only difficulty the project is encountering is in regards to landings. Due to the massive amounts of fuel and armament required to meet the project objectives, Cyclone is a bit heavy and requires shock absorbing leg braces to withstand the impact of landings as well as support himself when on the ground. Even then, touching down is a delicate business and Cyclone has had a few of his earlier landings end up with him face first in the dirt.

The idea for this figure is not originally mine, another Joecustoms member posted a similar conceptual idea on the boards a year or two ago. I remember I asked for his permission to use his idea for a custom of my own and he said yes. Unfortunately, I don't remember who the original custom was done by, so I can't give them credit. I do remember that he used an Alley Viper head and a Hawk jetpack for his custom.
