Vladamir moved to the United States as a young man of 18 always facinated with the art of war. He decided to drop by a recruiting center and couldnt help himself and signed up. He spent 10 years in the service and was a part of Operation Desert Storm as well as being part of the peace keeping missions in Kosovo and Beirut. His compassion for the smaller man helped fuel his drive for making changes in the world. After risking his life by running through enemy fire to scoop a small girl into his arms and return her to her mother he was under close watch by G.I. Joe as a future potential recruit. While his mother and father were visiting Scotland, they were caught in the cross fire of a fire fight between several men dressed in red, black and gold and a street gang. Since that day he has worn a black band around his arm to commemerate his parents. After his 12th year of service he was extended membership to G.I. Joe.

A lovable big guy, K-19 wants nothing more than to help others and to stop the tyranny that his parent and his family had to endure while he was growing up. The only thing bigger than his fists is his heart.
