Kabar is Duke's cousin. He always admired his cousin in the elite GI Joe force and aspired to join its ranks. After entering the service and receiving several commendations for his bravery and service Kabar finally got the opportunity to apply to join the ranks of the GI Joe team. The opening was in Gung-Ho's new jungle search and destroy team, the most dangerous GI Joe assignment and Kabar didn't even think twice about signing up. He is finally on the team even if it is the roughest part that gets the least recognition.
