Head: NS Storm Shadow
Chest: NS Snake-Eyes (commando version)
Arms: NS Gung-Ho
Hands: 25A Cobra Soldier
Waist, Legs: NS Storm Shadow

Design:

Why couldn't Hasbro make the 25A Storm Shadow the correct skin tone and just name it Ninja Ku? This is my answer to that question, even if it's mostly NS and not 25A parts.

Rather than going for a straight Storm Shadow repaint, I replaced the upper portion of the gi with a form-fitting athletic shirt. This is also a sort of "balance" to my custom Kamakura, which has a gi upper with trousers.

The biggest modification was the sculpting of fabric around the neck to extend the mask. The Storm Shadow head fit into the Snake-Eyes chest, but left a rather large hollow spot at the base of the neck that needed to be filled/covered.

Color:

The original Ninja Ku has a black and gold color scheme, which makes him either a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers or a pimp. The first Ninja Ku really didn't have that much gold.

As I see it, if you going to pimp, then pimp. In other words, I added more gold. The inner mask, lower leg wraps, and strapping on the chest are now gold.

When the unmasked mail-away Storm Shadow was released, I was really impressed with how the unpainted dragon pattern looked. I thought about making the dragon pattern on this figure either silver or gold, but decided to follow the lead of the unmasked figure and simply let the sculpting do the talking.

Thanks for looking.
