Artillery Corps Commander and Director of Munitions Research

Soviet artillery was a massive force to be reckoned with. So much so, that some NATO intelligence officers used to joke that Soviet Forces employed artillery as their maneuver element, supported by armor! Quasar was a Soviet Corps Artillery commander at the fall of the Cold War, having had a career marked by tactics that included particularly massive concentrations of firepower. According to Soviet troops, during the live fire exercises impact areas were said to emit the light and heat of a small, exploding sun... hence Quasar's nickname. Some training areas in Russia have still not recovered from the artillery exercises he conducted. This was just the kind of aggressive spirit sought by Cobra. During the chaotic breakup of the Soviet Union, Quasar was implicated in a scandal involving the attempted theft of tactical nuclear artillery shells. With Interior Ministry troops descending him, Cobra agents arrived with a contract and a place in a Night Raven for his escape to Cobra Island. When not making seismic waves exercising the guns, he oversees research into giving Cobra a bigger bang for its bucks.
