I want to circle back to a previous custom that I have since become very disappointed with, my S.A.W. Viper. My first attempt on this figure tried to emulate the purpleness of the modern convention figure but without the balaclava head. After finishing, he did not look like what I had imagined in my head. I did not try to re-do the figure because, well, it' s only the S.A.W. Viper after all. So, he sat on my shelf for months mocking me with his mediocrity. Once I was able to pull some disposable income together this Christmas, I decided I would try again. Lo and behold, the new result is just as disappointing. He is no longer Mr. Purple (I wanted to use the dark red as the base color), but the paint I used turned out to be too old. It glooped pretty badly and even looks like there is a layer of dust on it. Disappointing, even after using a good amount of water to thin it out. Oh well, I guess S.A.W. Viper will continue to be a work in progress.
