I did the lettering on the shield myself. A new thing for me.

Standoff was a veteran of L.A.'s SWAT team when he was approached by the Old Man to be the first member of G.I. Joe's new SWAT team. He learned many of the nasty guys he had been going up against were actually Cobra operatives.

The Old Man told him if he wanted to stomp out more snakes that he needed to sign up with Uncle Sam. When informed he could also pick his position on the team, Standoff signed up and requested point man, the first guy through the door after it's been kicked in.

Standoff is also second in command of the team and helps scout for new members as well as lead the training programs for the team.
