Not too long ago, I finally stopped fighting the trend and came around to using the VvV Sgt. Bazooka figure to represent Zap in my Joeverse. And, when I saw the DTC Grand Slam, I knew I had an opportunity to throw yet another nod to the design aesthetics of the original 13 into my revamped character designs for the dio.

Essentially I wanted my Short-Fuze to be a darker green version of Zap with a different head, just like he was in the beginning of the line.

Both the torso and the neck ball on the head required pretty extensive modification for this design to work. I also tweaked the crotch piece slightly so the torso would sit a little higher in it, making the figure more in line, height-wise, with the rest of my original 13.

The helmet also needed to be deepened inside to accommodate the new head's hairstyle.
