Vertigo is a certifiable mad-genius, he spent numerous years in the Joe's "fobbit hole" developing new weapons to use against Cobra. He specialized in non-lethal ADS (Active Denial Systems), more specifically a high-frequency Disorientation beam cannon. The weapon causes intense, crippling vertigo, causing the toughest Cobra Officer to double over. The enemy can't stand let alone aim and fire a weapon. Though its intended as a non-lethal countermeasure to Cobra personnel, it has been confirmed to cause at least one Cobra Viper's death when he vomited into his faceplate and was unable to remove it before asphyxiating on his own vomit.
