The W.O.R.M.S. divisions were conscripted from the ranks of HISS Drivers shortly before the Cobra Civil War to operate the new Maggot mobile artillery vehicles. While the men were capable, they were decimated during the war due to a lack of experience operating the new vehicles. The survivors counted themselves luck and doubled their training regiments.
Every W.O.R.M.S. became versed in not only operations of the Maggot and HISS, but also in every NATO and Warsaw Pact armored vehicle. If a W.O.R.M.S. crew lost their vehicle, they were expected to seize one from an enemy and continue their mission. Training now encompassed armored tactics, focusing on the strategies of Patton and Rommel, as well as the methods of Sun Tzu, Hannibal of Carthage, and the ancient warriors of Sparta.
Nicknames "Spartans" by the Cobra forces, W.O.R.M.S. became an elite unit following the reformation of Cobra, with W.O.R.M.S. now acting as commanders within the armored division of Cobra.
All W.O.R.M.S. report directly to Overlord, who has molded them into a most formidable force.
