Once I remade my Baron Ironblood, there was something about my Red Shadows customs that did not sit right. I rummaged through my Indiana Jones collection and found two spare German soldiers. These fit in very nicely with the intention to make my customs as close to the originals as possible.
I decided to rit dye them. Aside from providing a base for the red paint, I am singularly unimpressed with the stuff. I still had to sand the joints down to avoid paint rub.
I have a couple of original Palitoy Shadows in my collection, but I did not want to cut them apart for the heads, so I made a mold from one and cast the head in resin, colouring the resin with red acrylic paint. The logos and eye pieces were printed out on inkjet vinyl.
