This is my third and hopefully final attempt at making a Cobra Commander that really fit into my JoeVerse. I
wanted a Cobra Commander that had two very distinct looks, but I did not want to make two customs of him. With the first version of Cobra Commander I wanted to capture a darker feel for Cobra Commander, hence the black uniform. However, this version was made in October of 2002 when my skills were very infantile. I was not happy with the huge eye holes in the mask, the pistol that I had chosen, or the knife for that matter. In June of 2003 I had learned how to fill in the eye holes on the mask, found a different pistol, and had created a way to have an interchangeable head so that he could have a battle helmet. I had also created a different staff for a more ceremonial look for him. I still was not 100% satisfied with this look. The eye holes were still a little big, and I was not happy with the holster or the knife and its scabbard. This version of Cobra Commander also did not have a ceremonial enough look to him with the staff. For the third version I decided to add the swivel wrists, the classic Cobra Commander V1 head, a cape, a new holster for the pistol, as well as a new knife and scabbard. The color scheme was changed a bit to a darker insignia blue, with a black chest plate, and silver trim. I think this version of Cobra Commander allows for him to have a battle ready look when he has on the battle helmet. Yet with a simple head swap to the masked version and the addition of the cape and staff he becomes ceremonial with an entirely different look ready to address the masses of Cobra.
