The name Stahlhelm translates directly as steel helmet. It was more specifically the iconic Nazi helmet. I named it this because the first thing I thought of as it came together was that 1970's Hot Wheels car that had a great big German helmet covering the whole passenger area.

My goal was to make a Thunder Truck. I started with a Thunder Machine and this set of wheels that I thought would be awesome on it. When I was debating on how to build the cab I discovered that the Armadillo was almost a perfect fit. The problem was if you put the Armadillo on top it no longer looked like a Thunder Machine so I went a totally different route with it after making that discovery.
