The HISS has been Cobra's heavy assault vehicle almost from their inception and they've used them on just about every campaign. The HISS has gone through several variations, but their purpose is always the same: to provide heavy fire power and armored support to the infantry troops and to be used for a show of force. The new fifth generation HISS has heavier armor, upgraded engine and drive line and the ability to hide behind a protected area and pop up, make its shot and lower itself.
Desert operations require larger radiators and better filtration systems for the engines as well as a desert camo paint job to blend in to its surroundings. This HISS has also had a weapons upgrade with the addition of a pair of plasma weapons added to the sides of its hull.

I found a really cool type of textured spray paint and thought I'd try it out on a desert vehicle. Once dry, the paint has a feel of sand. Despite the large size of the HISS, it's weaponry is still a bit weak, so I added the plasma weapons form PoC Duke. They fit perfectly in the holes on the sides of the hull and the cables had a place to go too.
