Rodger was born in space. He hates being on any planet for an extended period of time, but needs to to earn money for all the ships he wrecks. He's no chosen one, and can hardly be called a hero he just winds up in a great many situations that call for heroics. Or at least action that looks like heroics.
This is his more casual look, it serves it's purpose on any planet that has been made habitable by humans.
