Seeing as how Both G.I. Joe and Cobra kept advancing their space programs with the arrival of the Lunartix aliens, Destro began to expand his own space exploration projects as well. He sent one of his best Nullifier squads to explore a vast unknown portion of space that was feared for it's meteor showers and it's unstable wormholes. Seven ships went out but only three returned. Destro's plan was succesful however as the Nullifiers that remained not only returned with powerful cristals that were an awesome energy source, but with a strange alien squidlike being who knew how to harvest them. Baroness was impressed when she found out that it had been that very creature who had taken down the rest of the Nullifier squd all by himself. Destro came to an agreement with the alien who was named Void and he gave him a place within his Iron Grenadiers. Soon the creatures tenacity, skill and tactical knowledge proved to be a great asset to Destro and Void rose quickly to the rank of General and the leader of Destro's new space fleet known as the Nexus Armada.
