Initially, my project of doing updated characters from the Action Force 1983-84 line was soley focused on Z Force, but once I began work on a converted WHALE custom, my thoughts went to it's possible crew members and I figured why not branch out into the other sub-teams. Hence, Q Force's "Shark".
The original Shark was essentially a frogman but with an advanced form of diving helmet, as opposed to a standard mask and regulator, and was of course done up in the garish Q Force blue and yellow.
So with my custom I wanted to keep the helmeted look, but for the rest of the figure I wanted a more real-world, tactical outfit, and took inspiration from the combat swimmers of SF units like the SBS, GIGN and SEALs
I still kept a couple of splashes of blue on him though to denote his garish origins.
