The Joes cooperate and share intelligence with various government agencies; the C.I.A., F.B.I., and Interpol, among others. Included among those "others" is S.H.I.E.L.D. : Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate.

While Col. Nick Fury is the head of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Coulson tends to be his eyes and ears, serving as a liaison to other groups and agencies.


Agent Coulson was believed killed during the Battle of New York and S.H.I.E.L.D. was believed defunct after it's infiltration by Hydra was exposed. However, Agent Coulson has since been seen leading a small group of agents in the field.


How he returned to life and what this new group means for the future of S.H.I.E.L.D. is unclear.
