Michael Knight, the driver of the original Knight Industries Two Thousand aka KITT, died before the ZomPoc. But not before his mind was uploaded to a cybernetic avatar. His mind was linked with the newest Knight Industries super vehicle KITT, Knight Industries Three Thousand, a near sentient AI uploaded into a state-of-the-art motorcycle platform.

Since the ZomPoc the maintenance platform both used prior, was destroyed. Leaving their systems to become corrupted.

Now they ride the wastes as participants in the Wacky Races.
