Microman Godzilla figure

I've been meaning to try a bubble blowing method for creating water explosions for a while now. Getting ready to close up my pool for the season I decided to recreate the iconic scene from Godzilla Minus One. I had a little toy boat set aside that I managed to misplace...somewhere...around here. As the weekend approached, I decided to scratch build the Shensei Maru with supplies I had on hand. It turned into a fun one day build.

The photoshoot, not as fun. Despite the boat having a fin running the length underneath to keep it from capsizing, the bubbles kept flooding over the walls and sinking it. Even without a current, even the slightest breeze sent the boat on its way forcing me to glue it to an acrylic rod that became invisible under water. Then getting everything in focus with one hand with an air tube in my mouth leading to clear straw under the water and holding the clear rod in my other hand led to blindly taking 100 pictures hoping a few might be good enough.

If that wasn't enough, the Microman figure wearing the suit was fragile AF. Holding it in water was enough to snap both ankles apparently. Forcing me to fish them out and glue them in place for the rest of the shoot. I knew they are fragile, but I never had any of my other Microman figures break like that.
