Sure, Tripwire is boring. And a little silly. His primary speciality is fairly specific. The original figure looks just as much like a spaceman as he does a mine detector. I liked Tripwire well enough when he came out, but I didn't have a reason to use him very much. Cobra can mine only so many fields.
There was a time when I used several of my Joes as superheroes. Tripwire got much more use then. I think he was the speedster.
Much like the original figure, custom is very straightforward...a little gray here, a little green there. Done.
