Michael Knight (formerly Michael Long) is a former war hero and police officer that is given a new identity and a new face after a horrible accident left him horribly disfigured. He becomes a crime fighter for Knight Industry using the latest in automobile technology with KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand). KITT is a nearly indestructible highly intelligent car that serves as Michael's friend and partner.
