If you could go back and ask 1984 me if Duke was cool, I would have given a resounding YES!
He was the guy you had to send off for. He was the guy who had just been introduced in G.I.Joe issue #22 and was going to make the sorry lot of Joes into soldiers. Yes, in 1984, Duke was cool.
Cut to today. After exactly seven million versions of Duke and the shine has worn off a bit. Like my Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander customs, they are really more of an obligation than a pleasure to make.
