Mutherf***in' Replicators.

The term "jumping the shark" was coined in 1985 in response to an episode of Happy Days. In the episode, super-cool character Fonzie literally jumps over a shark while on water skis.
The phrase is used to argue that a previously popular entity (in this case a toy line) is deemed no longer cool. The exact moment G.I. Joe jumped the shark is up for debate, but I'm sure we can all agree that if Replicators had been released, the toy line would have definitely jumped the shark in 1995.
Thank goodness we have been spared the Replicators.
Having said that, I have two Replicator customs in my collection. Cobra Commander and Duke. I based my Duke custom on the unreleased card art depicting a purplish, one-eyed, fanged alien morphing out of Duke's chest. The color of Duke's vest is hard to see in the card art. I believe it to be possibly brown or beige. I elected to use a purple vest in honor of his alien symbiote.
