All Marauders Task Force Parts
This is a simple kitbash/LBC. Only the Colonel's epaulettes and belt buckle have been painted.
I am very late to the game, but I definitely have a newly-found love for the Oktober Guard. Back when I was a kid, I could not care less for the Russian group. I bought the G.I.Joe issue #1 Treasury Edition at the local Five&Dime store and immediately fell in love with all things Joe, but I didn't start actually collecting the comic until issue #16, so I had already missed Oktober Guard's first appearance and (arguably) greatest adventure. Also, I had stopped collecting the comic by issue #62 and I had never collected Special Missions, so I had only a passing familiarity with the Russians. I didn't know that some of them had died and didn't know there was a "new" Oktober Guard team. I am actually now just learning some of the finer details of the group. I guess that's why I am so excited about them...it's the newness. It's not everyday that a life-long fan of G.I.Joe gets to learn something new about a 40-year-old franchise.
Okay, so Marauders has recently released figure parts based on WWII American, British, German, and Russian soldiers. One of the figures is a Russian Officer. Conveniently enough, the figure looks VERY similar to Colonel Brekhov. They even have a cigarette case and loose cigarette that you can buy to make the Russian Officer effectively identical to the Colonel (that item is currently sold out). Admittedly, there's not much left for a customizer to do to. Marauders has really made the perfect Brekhov. All I did was to paint the epaulettes and belt buckle red to give him a bit more color and pushed the Officer's cap back on the figure's head to emulate the slipshod demeanor of the original Colonel.
