Swamp Rats look cool, but I have NO idea what they are good for. I'm sure the suits at Hasbro just wanted as many human/vermin hybrids they could think of. Fair enough. There have been stories of rat-man in the past. There was even an old Captain America villain named "Vermin" that made an indelible impression on me as a child. There have been rat-man in Doctor Who (The Happiness Patrol) and anthropomorphic rats absolutely abound in literature. So...rat-man in G.I.Joe? Okay, sure.

But the Swamp Rats in Valor v Venom appear to be civilians and volunteers. They are also described as being scroungers. Do they also live in junk, use each other's parts, and sing 'Dare to be Stupid'?
