I was out of collecting Joe by 1985. I never had a Steel Brigade figure, but my friend was still collecting. He got one and I thought he was pretty cool. I had been a big fan of the teal/aqua that had been introduced in 1983 (Airborne was my fave) so seeing Steel Brigade with his blue shirt really appealed to me.

guess the version I made is considered version 1d. He has the Duke bandolier, the belt with pouches from the Cobra Soldier, and the tan holster (as opposed to a black holster). Nothing new here, indeed the main item of interest here was just how long it took to complete him. He has been sitting on my window sill for many months. I don't think I would be far off if I said he has been waiting for a year to be completed. I can't really say why it took so long. I would push him further and further down the to-do list in favor of other customs. Well, here he is. Nothing special, but special to me.
