I was out of Joe by 1985, but my buddy was still collecting and the first time I saw Barbecue, I thought he was just a really great little figure. He had a cool mask, he had a hose (which was super cool to me and my friends back then), he had an interesting whatever on his chest. I would go grab Barbecue whenever I went over to my buddy's house and just turn him over in my hands the whole time.
My Barbecue, despite being on-the-nose and very straightforward, was very enjoyable to create. Certainly there is nothing outstanding on this figure, but I had a good time painting him and reminiscing about days gone by. This guy will never win any customizing awards, but I love him all the same.
