Design:
A Brazilian figure first and then a GI Joe Collectors' Club figure, here translated into glorious NS format. The Ric Ollie boots are shared with - and link it to -another of my customs, Flying Scorpion, a different ARAH Brazilian figure translated by the GI Joe Collectors' Club into 25A format.
There were are few different NS chests/backs that would have been much closer to the source material. However, stepping away from the oversized Cobra emblem on the chest tones down the super villain vibe, and instantly gives the design some grit.
The Cobra symbol is important to the design, so I moved it to the circle shape on the jetpack.
Likewise, the original Brazilian figure used an armored/robot Cesspool arm. Here, I've added armored bits to both lower arms, while making it clear that neither arm is possibly robotic.
Colors & Paint:
Based on the Estrala action figure.
Oh, remember that grit I just talked about? I threw it out the window by adding lots of chrome. The original figure had a nice-but-flat metallic silver, but not reflective chrome. Some stuff's just gotta be chromed, so it is what it is. The entire figure was painted chrome, then the other colors were added on top of that before the clear coat. With this much chrome that was the best approach.
The Cobra symbol is printed on paper and clear coated on both sides, then glue in place.
Sculpting & Modifying:
The head was trimmed to fit into the helmet, with the neck bulked up to better match the other parts. The forearm guards are made from Battle Droid kibble. The midriff and upper/outer legs are sculpted from epoxy, which also smooths out the elbow and shoulder pins.
I accidentally glued the right leg in place at the hip, so the articulation "cut" is actually sculpted to appear as articulation.
