Design:

The '97 Kenner Star & Stripes Forever Grunt, like most of the figures in the set, was a mess. It was right on the line, though. It didn't really need a do-over.

However, this is one of those customs that built itself. While working on another custom, Chickenwire Mother, I had been using the Wetsuit arms. They just didn't flow with the other parts. I rotated them out with the Grunt arms, which solved the problem. It also left the Grunt figure with more dynamic arms.

The pouches added to the chest bring some Classified Series flavor to the design.

Colors & Paint:

Loosely based off of the box art, which features Grunt in an apple green top over a camouflage lower.

Sculpting & Modifying:

The hairline is moved forward with some epoxy. The shoulder rivets, elbow rivets, and thigh screw insets are also epoxy smoothed.
