This is a simple kitbash

I'm not the biggest fan of the DIC G.I.Joe cartoon but, despite its obvious flaws, it does have charm. I have to give them credit for at least advancing the story and for putting forward a new group of Joes as the main stars, people like Ambush, Bullhorn, Captain Grid Iron, and Pathfinder.

DIC did the same on the Cobra side as well. By this time, Baroness and Destro had called it quits, Destro had graduated to his gold form. Metal Head was elevated to star status, as was Gnawgahyde and Zarana. Zarana actually supplanted Baroness as Cobra Commander's aide de camp. .

The design of the Baroness changed a tiny bit, too, being mostly a palette-swap from black and gray to dark blue and light blue.
