Designed for use around desert bases and airfields, the Sand Darter is a high speed, rapid reaction sentry with both anti-personnel and anti-air capabilities meant to take the place of larger, less mobile vehicles such as the Humvee, at a much lower cost to operate, repair and replace.

The Sand Darter utilizes a high speed inter-cooled 4 cylinder multi-valve engine for power and sports heavy duty suspenion that allows it to operate on hard, packed earth or soft sand. It sports a single forward spotlight for night operations and is operated via dual joysticks instead of a wheel for tighter, faster turn times.

Weapons systems include a fixed, forward firing .30 machine gun and an auto-tracking surface-to-surface/surface-to-air missle mount in the rear carrying Stinger III high explosive rockets.

The Sand Darter is not armored and is not recommended for use against anything beyond light armored vehicles.
