Codename: Athena
Filename: Parker, Jessica K.
Primary Military Specialty: Infantry
Secondary Military Specialty: Field Commander
Rank: E-9 (G.I. Joe Command Sergeant Major)
Birthplace; Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.A.

Bio: Until her senior year, Jessica was the most popular girl in school; smart, funny, atheltic, and she also had a boyfriend who was in the military. Then her world came crashing down around her one night; the person she loved, the person she thought who loved her raped her. All that remained of the queen of the school was a shattered youth.

The one who raped her was Daniel Maxwell, the Dreadnok "Devastator", formerly "Sabre" of G.I. Joe: Frontline.

The next year saw little improvement in Jessica's healing, if any. It was only through shear determination that her father convinced her to go with him and her mother to a reunion of his former military unit. When Cobra attacked the reunion, a reunion of G.I. Joe, the Frontliner Zandar, Jessica's uncle, her mother's twin brother was able to keep Devastator from seeing her. When the members of Frontline dropped their facade of former Joes and children and relatives of former Joes (although some Frontliners WERE the children of former Joes in addition to being members of Frontline.) to launch a rescue, When several of those who really WERE the children of former Joes demanded to help, Jessica finished undergoing a change that seeing Devastator had begun. Without a word she armed herself and was one of the first wave in the counterattack.

When G.I. Joe was reinstated, it was decided that in addition to members of other service branches, Frontline, and former Joes those who had taken part in the successful rescue operation would be offered membership. Jessica was the first to accept, finishing off the life that Devastator had begun the end of and beginning that of "Athena."

"I heard that back in the eighties there was a former soldier that saw his family killed, it destroyed him. He spent the rest of his life seeing things in black and white, guilty and innocent, and Punishing the guilty became his life's work. A number of people tried to salvage something of what Frank Castle once was, but there wasn't enough of him left in the Punisher... I think Athena's a different story, call it instinct, call it ESP, call it whatever you want; I honestly think that she can be saved from falling into a similar pit. She just needs to realize that good still exists, people still fight for what's right, and that Honor's more than just a word..." -- Major John T. Magnus, codename: "Turbo"
