I was looking to make a post-apocalyptic or abandoned-looking base for use in my photo booth setup at home. I had a few of the '82 HQ platforms stored away and decided that would be a good place to start. I began by priming it with Army Painter Matte White spray. Then I took a piece of fine grit sandpaper and went to town on the edges, taking it back to mostly original gray plastic. I then washed it with Citadel Earthshade. Following that, I went in with Citadel Black shade and hit the vents and the gaps between plates. I may have used another coat of the Earthshade wash after that.
