In 1980 Cobra Commander donned his first "offical" COBRA uniform, ready to lead his organization to victory over Democracy!This criminal mastermind knew his mysterious, almost regal appearance would inspire morale in his fledgling army, as well as instill fear into Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public. Over the next year and a half, he refined his costume until it became the uniform he is first seen in threatning the world in G.I. JOE issue #1, but kept his battle helmet for combat settings.
