Aircraft: Dollar store Chap Mei helicopter copy
Weapon wings: Parts of a 1:42 scale A-10
Missiles: 1:42 scale A-10's Mavericks
Nose machine gun: Dollar store oversized shotgun, modified
Twin cannon on top: Unknown origin
Engines: 1:42 scale A-10's turbo jets
I recently found these sets of vehicles very cheap at a local dollar store which are basically copies of Chap Mei stuff. This helicopter is the same but the doors don't open.
For this model, I removed the rotors from the helicopter, and added a couple of turbo jets to the sides to change the role of this vehicle, from a standard helicopter to a V.T.O.L. attack jet (similar role as Sky Hawk). It also reminded me of the ORCA fighter from Command & Conquer series.
I used the flaps of a 1:42 scale A-10 model as the weapon wings, and equipped them with 4 Maverick missiles (again, from the 1:42 model).
I also added a twin cannon on top of the craft (where the rotors used to be). The idea is that this cannon can rotate and automatically seeks out enemy craft and missiles.
In my Joe-verse, this type of craft is built by the same company who makes the Little Dragon helicopters. This version is used by G.I. Joe, and it's called Dragonhawk. It has a dual role, depending on the weapons used; it can act as a helicopter-hunter, when it's armed with Air-to-Air missiles, which due to its twin engines make it possible to outmaneuver most of its prey. In the model used here, it's equipped with Air-to-Surface missiles, which makes it a fast close support attack craft.
