I had an idea for a Black Ice (http://www.generalsjoes.com/reviews/2006/exclusives/blackic e.html) personal vehicle as soon as I got him. Originally I was thinking something smaller and personal, like the Polar Battle Bear, but then I found a cheap complete Ice Snake.
I instantly saw potential in this often overlooked Cobra artic vehicle. However, now Black Ice would need an entourage to man the Black Ice Snake. Black Ice doesn't drive himself around.
I started seeing yellowing Ice Vipers going for really cheap. Great figures, desperate to be customized. Ideally they'd have their sais, but they can wait. I didn't even need to rename them. The Black Ice Vipers.
When I was taking the Ice Sabre out of its drawer to assemble, I spotted my incomplete Despoiler. I don't know what possed me to do it, but I placed it on the turrent for the Ice Snake's missile launcher. It fit perfectly in the hole at the bottom of the Despoiler. There were even hooks in the front that looked like docking clamps. What luck. But, there was a miscalculation.
After dremeling a hole for the missile launcher in the hood, I painted and assembled the entire vehicle. I manned it, and saw my mistake. The turret was occupying all the leg room, Black Ice couldn't fit in his Ice Pod. It was a short set back but a lot of work. I drilled out a seat from the Tiger Cat that had donated its treads, sanded it down and glued it in place. What was where Black Ice rested his wet boots. I've ordered a Wave Crusher to give him proper controls, but until then, I'd say this is done.
