Since her discovery of a nanomite threat that led her to a temporary assignment to the GI Joe team (ref: Battle Files #1 for bio previous to Joe team), Firewall has proven that she has the heart and determination to earn a permanent spot on the Joe roster.

However, this determination was tempered through loss: after a string of victories against Cobra, it could be said that the Joe team had become lax. Daemon and Firewall were assigned to a convoy transporting [cargo classified].

This "milk run" was ambushed by superior Cobra forces in a brazen attack on U.S. soil: In the fighting, a member of Cobra's High Command snapped Daemon's neck before Firewall and Roadblock. Reports that this was a rejunevated Serpentor are unconfirmed. The remainder of the team were captured and taken to a Cobra base in South America. The group managed to escape and even briefly hold Cobra Commander hostage, and it was Firewall who reached a radio and call out to JOE HQ for a rescue team.

The experience, plus the heavy fighting that occured in the retrieval of the convoy team, was a moment of maturity for Firewall - and for General Hawk. From these events, the Greenshirt program received drastic alterations, although, several soldiers won their GI Joe tabs: Barrel Roll, Mayday, Hacker, Mariner, and Depth Charge among them. [Ed note: For my dio-stories, this is considered a rewrite of the Serpentor Rising arc, DDP #16-28, and the official departure of my universe from the canon.]

Firewall, however, asked to remain on probationary cadet status, citing the reason that she has not had the physical or combat training that the other Joe members had, and until she has, she would be at risk out in the field. With Gen. Hawk's approval, this oversight is in the process of being "corrected". Firewall remains a HQ-only operative for the Joe team, and serves a lighter shift load of (on average) five hours a day. In addition, she adheres to a Basic and Tech Training regimen administered by Beach-Head (PT, marksmanship, combat practice), Law (UCMJ, rules, regs, and protocols), and Scarlett (HtH combat & satellite imagery tech training).

As of "Battle Plans", Firewall was in week 6 of the 20 week program. Presumably, at the successful completion of the program, she will receive full Joe status and a raise in paygrade.
