I figured Hasbro would do a comic pack Duke, but I never suspected they'd choose to base him on the one issue that was pencilled by Russ Heath, the character designer for the TV show! The comic is my preferred story, but the TV character designs and characterization in general are my preferred versions of the Joes and Cobras. Thus I've set about making TV-accurate versions of most of my favorite characters.

First up is Duke, my favorite Joe, based closely on his TV counterpart (in the second photo). He has a watch, since the comic pack version wears one, and his colors aren't exactly perfect due to my poor painting skills, but otherwise, he's as close to the TV show as I could manage. I've also included a side-by-side head shot of cartoon Duke and Comic Pack Duke so everyone can marvel at the magnificent job Hasbro did in bringing a 2D cartoon character to life.
